If you like fragrant plants, then this one is for you!
The small clusters of orange-blossom scented, white flowers appear on and off throughout the year.
One plant can fill a yard (or a room!) with fragrance.
Common names for this plant are Orange Jasmine, Orange Jessamine, Café de India, and Mock Orange.
Orange Jasmine is a wonderful evergreen plant, that can be grown as a shrub up to 8 feet tall and 3-5 feet wide.
However, Orange Jasmine will also make a wonderful bonsai tree, because of it’s tiny leaves
and relatively slow growing habit. It will flower on even small plants and after the amazing
display and scent of the flowers, you are treated to red berries!
Orange Jasmine is an excellent
choice for container growing. Enjoy the scent outside in the summer, and bring the container
inside to enjoy the flowers in the winter. What a perfect plant!
They should be planted in full sun to part shade in rich, well-drained soil. Hardy in USDA Zones 9B-11.
