Stromanthe sanguinea "Tricolor" is sometimes called "Triostar". This magnificant Stromanthe has exotic white, burgundy/pink, and green variegated foliage. The underside of the leaves is a maroon/burgundy color. Beautiful! Growing to a maximum height about 2 feet, this Stromanthe makes a wonderful addition to that shady spot on your deck or to your houseplant collection. It does equally well in a container or in the ground. It thrives in the shade in moist, rich, well-drained soil. It does not tolerate hot, direct sun very well -- the white parts of the leaves tend to get crispy. It is hardy to Zone 9b. In Zone 9, it can be heavily mulched for the winter and then cut back hard in the spring.
