This is a truly beautiful tropical specimen plant. The luscious pink flower spike is breathtaking. In ideal conditions, Pink Gingers can reach a height of 10 feet and can flower 8 months from planting. They will usually start producing flowers at 3-4 feet. The typical height that you might expect to get in a container or in a greenhouse is 4-6 feet. These gingers make large 6-8 inch pink flowers against beautiful dark green foliage. Both the leaves and the flowers are excellent for cut flower arrangements.

They should be planted in full sun to part shade in rich, well-drained soil. They are hardy in USDA Zones 10-11. They make a marvelous container plant that will make your deck/patio look like a tropical oasis. They need to be moved inside or into a greenhouse if outside temperatures go below 50° F. They like humidity and abundant water.
