Calathea loesneri

Calathea loesneri is a delightful plant that does best in shady, humid conditions. It grows 1 to 2 feet tall, with oval, slightly variegated leaves. The flowers, resembling lotus blossoms, are white with violet and held 6" above the leaves. Blooms appear from July to October.

Calathea loesneri is hardy to Zone 9B. It thrives in the shade, in moist, rich, well-drained soil. It is an excellent container plant.
